The Catholic Cemeteries of the Diocese of San Diego offer several meaningful ways to create a lasting tribute to your loved ones. Beyond traditional markers and monuments, our Memorial Programs allow families to contribute to the beauty and serenity of our sacred grounds while establishing a permanent legacy of faith and remembrance.

Each of our cemetery locations may have specific availability for benches, trees, or memorial walls. To discuss the best way to honor your loved one, please contact the main cemetery office.

Memorial Benches

For families who wish to make a significant contribution to the perpetual care of our cemeteries, we offer the opportunity to place granite memorial benches in designated areas.

  • The Gift: These benches provide a place of rest and reflection for all visitors.
  • Recognition: In recognition of a donation to our Endowment Care Fund, a bench may be placed in a scenic location.
  • Customization: Inscriptions are available for purchase to personalize the bench in memory of your family or a loved one (subject to diocesan approval).

Memorial Leaves and Walls

In our indoor and outdoor mausoleum spaces, we offer unique opportunities for permanent recognition through bronze memorial leaves or plaques.

  • Sacred Placement: These memorials are often affixed to "Trees of Life" or dedicated memorial walls near our chapels.
  • Spiritual Connection: Names inscribed in these areas are remembered in our monthly Memorial Masses, where we pray collectively for all those interred within the Diocese.

Why Give to the Endowment Care Fund?

Many of our memorial programs are tied to the Cemetery Endowment Care Fund. These contributions are held in trust to ensure that our Catholic Cemeteries remain beautifully maintained, secure, and sacred in perpetuity. Your memorial gift today helps preserve these holy spaces for the generations of tomorrow.
